Istanbul - Turkey
Istanbul, one of the most important growing cities in the world, has built and continues to broaden its subway network. Although Istanbul is home to the world’s second-oldest underground railway, the 1875-vintage tunnel, and plans for a metro system have been proposed several times since 1912, construction only began on the city’s first metro line in 1989. 2004: Total – 45 km metro network. 2004-2013: Total – 141 km metro network. 2014-2019: Total – 420 km metro network. 2019+: Total – 777 km metro network. We believe that this Forum will create a business platform with governmental policy makers, metro tunnelling companies, sub-contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to create possibility for bidding and forming partnerships for new and applicable all metro Projects (777 km metro line) in Istanbul where Euro 10 billion of metro investment will be done through to 2020. Many sub-contractors and suppliers will have the opportunity to make B2B meetings with the main contractors and administrations during the Forum and thus the volume of potential business will increase.
