Keeping rail on the move through disruption: preparing for extreme weather, climate change and unexpected events.
Despite seeing an increase in disruption to the network due to severe weather conditions in recent years, the UK’s rail network remains unprepared for unexpected events. With a growing number of delays caused by line closures and over-running engineering works, how can we reduce these incidents and have plans ready for when they do occur?
This is the first national conference to bring together the UK rail industry to tackle the growing problem of creating a resilient rail network. Senior professionals from across the rail sector including Network Rail, TOCs, and local authorities will come together to discuss both short and long term plans for developing a network which is resilient to weather conditions, engineering works, emergencies and climate change.
At this conference we will explore the recommendations from the UK Transport Resilience Review, learn how Government plans to ensure the implementation of a resilient rail network, and hear from industry leaders as they discuss the importance of cross sector working and provide insights on numerous mitigation measures to manage disruption and recovery.
