Bangkok, Thailand – The third edition of Rail Expansion Asia was held in Bangkok on June 28 and 29. The two-day event was held at Aravinda Ballroom in the Hotel Lebua at State Tower near Bangkok’s Chao Phraya River.
REA 2018 was a two-day gathering to share project case studies, discuss opportunities and deliver solutions for the major challenges faced by the industry.
Speakers included Rail Professional Asia Pacific contributor Sukhy Barhey and Anan Phonimdang of Thailand’s State Railway (SRT), as well as other speakers from Taiwan High Speed Rail, MyHSR, AECOM, Bombardier, Cambodia’s Royal Railways and many others.
Rail Professional Asia Pacific was a media partner for the event and we were there handing out copies of the magazine from our stand.
The morning of Thursday June 28 focussed on the topic of Vision for Southeast Asia & Regional Perspective Rail Outlook in Thailand and the afternoon looked at New Projects and Line Extensions in Asia One Belt, One Road. The Friday sessions focussed on Navigating the Direction of the Railway Investment Development of Rolling Stock Operation & Maintenance in the morning and Next Generation Rail Technologies and Innovation E-Ticketing in the afternoon.
