The Fourth ASEAN Rail Summit, set to take place in 2025, will bring together an impressive array of railway industry leaders from across Southeast Asia and beyond. The event, guided by the International Union of Railways (UIC) and India’s Ministry of Railways, represents a significant gathering of transportation executives and decision-makers.
The summit will be jointly hosted by the Malaysian Railway Industry Corporation (MARIC), SMRT Corporation, and Shine Consultant International Ltd., with support from Taiwan’s Smart Rail Committee of the Telematics Industry Association.
Distinguished speakers will include top executives from major railway operators across the ASEAN region, including the presidents of MARIC and PT. MRT Jakarta, as well as senior officials from Thailand’s Mass Rapid Transit Authority and State Railway. The event will also feature international participation, with representatives from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and PwC Italy among the confirmed speakers.
Notable participants will include key figures from Malaysia’s rail sector, such as the Chief Corporate Officer of KTMB Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad and the Project Director of Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd. Representatives from Vietnam, the Philippines, South Korea, Myanmar, and Cambodia will also share their expertise and insights.
The summit will incorporate the ASEAN RAIL AWARDS 2025, recognizing excellence in technological innovation, safety, environmental protection, and sustainable development within the industry. This platform will offer companies opportunities to showcase their achievements and connect with industry decision-makers.
The gathering underscores the growing importance of rail transportation in the ASEAN region, bringing together leaders from traditional state railways, modern metro systems, and international financial institutions to shape the future of regional rail transport.
